GFEBS TRAINING
GFEBS Training Course: Instructor-Led, On-Site or Virtual
PUBLISHED 19 OCTOBER 2026
The GACS GFEBS training course is instructor-led training for DoD Resource Management, Budget, and Financial Management personnel. It is organized into four modules, running from T-codes and navigation through budget execution and reports to troubleshooting and advanced topics, and it can be delivered on-site at your location or as live remote training. The course can be customized for new users, experienced analysts, or a combination of skill levels.
Who the course is for
The course is designed for DoD Resource Management, Budget, and Financial Management personnel and their units, from new users to experienced analysts.
GFEBS stands for General Fund Enterprise Business System. GACS provides GFEBS training and functional support aimed at helping Department of Defense personnel improve their practical understanding of financial management processes and GFEBS operations. The training is based on actual GFEBS transactions and the challenges users face every day, not generic system overviews.
What the course covers
The course has four modules, summarized below and listed with the training topics on the home page. On the request form they appear as GFEBS T-Codes & Navigation, Budget Execution, GFEBS Reports, and Troubleshooting & Advanced, so you can ask for the full course or only the modules your team needs.
Module 01: Introduction to GFEBS T-Codes
The first module covers commonly used GFEBS T-codes, GFEBS navigation, and the key transactions used by budget and financial analysts. It also covers adding frequently used transactions to Favorites / Home Screen.
Module 02: Budget Execution
The second module works through ME51N Purchase Requisitions; FMZ transactions; CJ20N, WBS and funding structure; FMBB and fund movements; and G-Invoicing processes. It uses practical transaction examples and looks at common user issues.
Module 03: GFEBS Reports
The reports module covers Status of Funds (SOF), detailed financial reports, and Open Commitment Reports. It also covers reviewing commitments and obligations, transaction research, reviewing and analyzing fund balances, and using reports to support budget execution and decisions.
Module 04: Troubleshooting & Advanced GFEBS
The last module takes on common GFEBS transaction errors, troubleshooting techniques, and Help Desk and escalation procedures. It also covers GFEBS access and roles, workflow issues, GRC-related access considerations, and advanced topics for experienced analysts.
The training objective
The course is meant to help participants become more confident in five areas:
- performing common GFEBS activities
- understanding budget execution transactions
- researching financial information
- running and interpreting reports
- resolving common system or transaction issues
These five areas also make a handy planning checklist. Before you request training, ask the people who will attend which areas raise the most questions for them, and name the one or two that matter most in your request.
Delivery options
The training delivery options include:
- On-Site Training: instructor-led training at your location.
- Virtual Instructor-Led: live remote training for geographically dispersed personnel.
- Small Group Training: for budget, resource management, or financial management teams.
To choose, start with where your people work. If they share one location, on-site training comes to them. If they are spread across sites, the virtual option is the one meant for that. If one office team needs focused help, small group training fits. Still deciding? The location question on the request form includes an undecided choice.
Tailoring the course to your unit and experience levels
GACS tailors training to the organization's mission, personnel experience level, functional requirements, and priority GFEBS topics. The focus stays on practical knowledge personnel can apply in their daily work. For a unit that wants content built around its own work, Customized Unit Training shapes the material around the organization's mission, user roles, common issues, and learning objectives.
The request form asks for the experience level of the students. Here is how to pick:
- New users: most attendees are new to GFEBS.
- Experienced analysts: attendees already work in GFEBS and want more depth, such as the advanced topics for experienced analysts in Module 04.
- Mixed skill levels: the default choice, for a group that combines both.
Need more than the four modules? GACS also lists additional training capabilities beyond the core course: Purchase Requisitions & Purchase Orders, G-Invoicing, Sales Orders & Reimbursable Processes, FMZ Processing, GPC Processes, GPC AXOL, GRC Roles & Workflow, Account Access & Role Coordination, Year-End Close Support, Open Commitment & Reimbursable Reporting, Transaction & Workflow Troubleshooting, Business Objects, and Business Intelligence. Several of these are also topics on the form: PR / PO, G-Invoicing, Reimbursables, FMZ, GPC / AXOL, GRC Roles & Workflow, and Year-End Close.
The trainer's GFEBS and SAP FI/CO experience
GACS training is supported by a trainer with 14 years of hands-on GFEBS experience and an additional 8 years of hands-on SAP FI/CO experience. That experience supports practical instruction in budget execution, reporting, transactions, troubleshooting, access, workflow, and related financial processes.
Because that range runs from transactions and reports to access and workflow, it is worth describing your team's problem areas in the request, even when they cross several modules. You can read more about the company on the home page.
How to request training or a quote
Requests go through the form on the home page. The Request Training link opens the form ready for a training request; choose Request a Quote on the form if you want a quote instead. Only three fields are required: the organization or unit, a point of contact, and an email address.
Everything else is optional, but it is worth deciding these points before you start:
- Who is coming: an estimated number of students.
- What to cover: the modules your team needs, plus any extra topics.
- Experience level: new users, experienced analysts, or mixed skill levels.
- Where: on-site, virtual instructor-led, or undecided.
- When: preferred training dates, if you have them.
- Anything else: your mission, the roles of the people attending, and the issues they run into.
After a request is received, GACS follows up at the email you provided to discuss topics, dates, and delivery.
