GFEBS TRAINING

GFEBS T-Codes Training: Navigation and Key Transactions

GFEBS T-codes training starts with Introduction to GFEBS T-Codes, Module 01 of the instructor-led GFEBS course from GACS. The module covers commonly used GFEBS T-codes, GFEBS navigation, adding frequently used transactions to Favorites / Home Screen, and the key transactions used by budget and financial analysts. It can be customized for new users, experienced analysts, or a combination of skill levels.

What the T-codes module covers

Introduction to GFEBS T-Codes has four parts:

  • ›Commonly used GFEBS T-Codes
  • ›Adding frequently used transactions to Favorites / Home Screen
  • ›GFEBS navigation
  • ›Key transactions used by budget and financial analysts

As its name says, it is the course's introduction, and its part on key transactions focuses on the ones budget and financial analysts use. The training is designed for DoD Resource Management, Budget, and Financial Management personnel. It is based on actual GFEBS transactions and the challenges users face every day, not generic system overviews, and it is supported by a trainer with 14 years of hands-on GFEBS experience and an additional 8 years of hands-on SAP FI/CO experience.

This page is not a list of codes to memorize. It explains what the module covers and how to shape a request around the transactions your own team uses. GFEBS stands for General Fund Enterprise Business System, and GACS is a private company and an independent training provider, not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the U.S. Department of Defense or the U.S. Army.

Navigation and Favorites / Home Screen

Two of the four parts deal with getting around GFEBS: GFEBS navigation, and adding frequently used transactions to Favorites / Home Screen.

A simple way to prepare is to ask each attendee to write down the transactions they open in a normal week. Keep each entry short: the transaction, what the person uses it for in their own words, and roughly how often. Then compare the lists. Transactions that appear on many lists are the ones your group will care about in the Favorites / Home Screen part of the module, and the combined list is worth sharing when GACS follows up to discuss topics.

Commonly used T-codes and key transactions for analysts

The module also covers commonly used GFEBS T-codes and the key transactions used by budget and financial analysts. Because the training can be customized for different skill levels, it helps to tell GACS which transactions each role relies on.

Group your list by role. Budget analysts and financial analysts may lean on different transactions, and new users may know only a few. A role-by-role list makes it easier to see whether the group needs the basics, more depth, or a mix of both. If your office already keeps its own desk guide or list of codes, mention it in the request as well; it is a ready-made starting point for the follow-up.

The T-codes in the Budget Execution module

The course's Budget Execution module names four T-codes and lists them as:

  • ›ME51N Purchase Requisitions
  • ›FMZ transactions
  • ›CJ20N, WBS and funding structure
  • ›FMBB and fund movements

If your attendees work in budget execution, ask for T-codes and navigation together with Budget Execution in the same request. Navigation and these named transactions sit in different modules, so naming both gives GACS the full picture. If your team uses only some of the four, say which ones. This page names only the four codes the module lists, so add any others your team uses to your own list.

When transactions fail: errors, troubleshooting and Help Desk escalation

Knowing a code is one part of the job. Knowing what to do when a transaction fails is another. The Troubleshooting & Advanced module of the course covers:

  • ›common GFEBS transaction errors and troubleshooting techniques
  • ›Help Desk and escalation procedures

Transaction & Workflow Troubleshooting is also listed as a capability beyond the core course. If your team already knows its transactions but loses time to errors, say so in your request. That points the conversation toward troubleshooting rather than navigation basics. It also helps to note which transactions cause trouble and what your people do next, for example whether they retry, ask a coworker, or contact the Help Desk.

Access, roles and GRC considerations

The same module covers GFEBS access and roles and GRC-related access considerations. Account Access & Role Coordination appears among the additional training capabilities beyond the core course.

If questions about access and roles come up often on your team, include them in your request so they can be discussed alongside the T-codes your people use. Keep the description general and leave out user names and account details.

Delivery options

T-codes and navigation training can be delivered as:

  • ›On-Site Training at your location
  • ›Virtual Instructor-Led, live remote training
  • ›Small Group Training

Pick the option that fits where your attendees work: on-site if they share a location, virtual if they are spread out, or small group if one team needs it. On-site training takes place at the customer location, so if you choose it, name the location in your request. If you have not decided, leave it open and raise it in the follow-up. The home page section Delivered where your team works describes each option.

Request T-codes training for new users or experienced analysts

On the request form, tick GFEBS T-Codes & Navigation as a topic and choose an experience level. A rough guide:

  • ›New users: attendees starting out in GFEBS who need navigation and commonly used T-codes.
  • ›Experienced analysts: attendees who already use GFEBS and want to focus on key transactions, errors, access, and roles.
  • ›Mixed skill levels: a group with both, since the course can be customized for a combination of skill levels.

A rough headcount and any dates that work are also worth including. When your list of transactions and your experience level are ready, send them through Request GFEBS Training, whether you want training or a quote. The follow-up comes to the email you provided and covers topics, dates, and delivery.
